Natural forest

Natural forest – a forest formed by natural processes, even though it may have been influenced by human activity in the past (especially nomadic felling and animal grazing), but not a forest influenced by planting or seeding. Its tree species composition, spatial and age structure predominantly reflects the locality  conditions (e.g. clear cutting of the forest in medieval times and the following long-term natural development or as a result of the long-term influence of overpopulated game animals etc.)
